John McCain has long been a thorn in the side of republicans, long before the Arizona Senator began his petty beef with President Trump.
The veteran and Senator has long played up his time as a prisoner of war to create an invincible aura around himself, falling back to his status as a war hero to delegitimize his political adversaries. A great deal of evidence exists that calls into question McCain’s tales of torture and mistreatment, and outlines the instances in which McCain cooperated with his captors to endanger Americans as a way to keep from being personally harmed.
That’s a story for another day, however.
Today, a revelation has been published in the media that links the not-so-conservative republican and failed Presidential candidate with illicit fundraising sources. Surely, this sounds like any old, mundane campaign story, but when you get a look at the list of possible McCain backers, you will see why this disclosure is of the utmost importance.
“A ‘leadership institute’ that Arizona’s Sen. John McCain has set up with millions of unspent 2008 campaign dollars is being funded, at least in part, by leftists like George Soros and foreign interests in Iran, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.
“It looks remarkably like the Clinton Global Initiative, critics say, bringing up the same concerns about special interests and foreign money co-mingling with American politics.
“As the chairman of the Senate Armed Service Committee, McCain – a former Navy pilot and POW – is a formidable political power in Washington.
“The McCain Institute for International Leadership – which is associated with Arizona State University – has received as much as $100,000 from George Soros and from Teneo, a company founded by President Bill Clinton’s confidant Doug Band.
“Saudi Arabia is also in the ‘Institute.’ The Middle Eastern nation donated $1 million in 2016. So has Morocco, which has given $100,000 to McCain’s pet project.”
McCain’s long history of opposing conservative when it best suits him may not be the only culpable hypocrisy hiding in McCain’s crowded closet.
George Soros, who is listed as a possible donor in this instance, is a well-known liberal “kingmaker”, who routinely interferes in worldwide politics to protest his vast empire of wealth and numerous investments. As a puppet master behind the Clintons and Obamas, having Soros’ name linked to yourself as a republican is often seen as a fatal blow. Much like his time as POW, it seems that McCain’s allegiances will sway, depending on who is pressuring him – in this case, the emperor of the liberal, globalist kingdom is instructing his plebeians to “resist” Donald Trump.
Good dog, John McCain.
