Ongoing Death Of Europe – Merkel Stuck On Stupid – Jihadist: Ban Christmas Celebrations in Islamic States

The Ongoing Death Of Europe

Dec 29, 2016 by

It was Christianity that helped to create the West, including Europe, and it is the erosion of Christianity and the rise of Islam that is destroying the West – especially Europe. We see evidence of this everywhere, and the future is looking very grim indeed for much of the Western world.

Some Good news

Sure, there are some exceptions to all this, and we must not overlook them. Let me offer just three such quick vignettes before I look at the bad news. The first comes from the US state of Kentucky:

The “Year of the Bible” will apparently last 24 months in Kentucky. Gov. Matt Bevin has declared 2017 the “Year of the Bible” in Kentucky even though he proclaimed 2016 the “Year of the Bible” last December. Both proclamations pleased Pastor Mark Harrell of Victory Christian Fellowship church in Somerset, who said Wednesday that Bevin’s actions are in support of a statewide Bible reading marathon.
The “Kentucky 120 United Bible Reading Marathon” is a statewide event to get people in all 120 Kentucky counties to read aloud the entire Bible in the first three or so days of the new year. Harrell founded the effort with aid from a group of clergy known as the Kentucky Prayer Focus.
“We had the Bible-reading marathon last January and the governor and his family participated,” Harrell said. “He wanted it again. We are fortunate to have such a governor.” Harrell said he and Democratic state Rep. Tom Riner of Louisville, who also is a Baptist minister, asked Bevin to sign the proclamation for 2017 and “he graciously accepted as he did last year.”

The second example comes from Poland:

In a ceremony at the Church of Divine Mercy in Krakow, Poland on Saturday, the Catholic Bishops of Poland in the presence of President Andrzei Duda and many Catholic pilgrims, officially recognized Jesus Christ as the King of Poland and called upon Him to rule over their nation, its people and their political leaders.
“Immortal King of Ages Lord Jesus Christ, our God and Savior,” they declared at the ceremony, “bowing our heads before You, King of the Universe, we acknowledge Thy dominion over Poland, those living in our homeland and throughout the world. Wishing to worship the majesty of Thy power and glory, with great faith and love, we cry out: Rule us, Christ!”
As reported by Fr. Paul McDonald in Rorate Caeli and at Radio Maryja, the enthronement or recognition of Christ as King of Poland “was done in the official presence of the president of Poland [Andrzei Duda]” on Nov. 19 and was repeated at many Polish cathedrals and parishes on Sunday, Nov. 20.

The third example comes from the UK. In her annual Christmas message Queen Elizabeth was not afraid to mention the real reason for the season. As she said in her closing words:

At Christmas, our attention is drawn to the birth of a baby some two thousand years ago. It was the humblest of beginnings, and his parents, Joseph and Mary, did not think they were important.
Jesus Christ lived obscurely for most of his life, and never travelled far. He was maligned and rejected by many, though he had done no wrong. And yet, billions of people now follow his teaching and find in him the guiding light for their lives. I am one of them because Christ’s example helps me see the value of doing small things with great love, whoever does them and whatever they themselves believe.
The message of Christmas reminds us that inspiration is a gift to be given as well as received, and that love begins small but always grows. I wish you all a very happy Christmas.

europe-3But plenty of bad news

All this is offset however by the continuing downward spiral of the West. Two recent articles from the Gatestone Institute highlight just how bad things are in Europe. They demonstrate the truth that as Christianity is receding there, secularism is not sufficient to take its place, and Islam instead is rushing in to fill the void.

As Giulio Meotti laments, “Islamists Attack Christmas, but Europeans Abolish It”. He looks at a number of examples of this occurring in France, then looks to the rest of Europe. Here are a few more:

The annual candlelit Saint Lucia procession, a Swedish Christian tradition celebrated for hundreds of years, is “dying” out. Uddevalla, Södertälje, Koping, Umeå, and Ystad are among the growing numbers of cities no longer holding this lovely cultural event. According to Jonas Engman, an ethnologist at the Nordic Museum, the declining interest in the St. Lucia procession accompanies a more general alienation from the culture of Christian Sweden. A study conducted by Gallup International reveals that in observing the Christian religion, Sweden is “the least religious in the West”. In the meantime, with a young, strong, driven sense of purpose and a set of sharia values, Islam is growing.
A German school in Turkey just banned Christmas celebrations. The school, Istanbul Lisesi, funded by the German government, decided that Christmas traditions and carol-singing would no longer be permitted. The Washington Post summarized the decision: “No teaching of Christmas customs, no celebrations and no Christmas caroling”. It is not an isolated incident. A Woolworth’s store in Germany also scrapped Christmas decorations, telling customers that the shop “is now Muslim”….
Belgium, the most Islamized democracy in Europe, is also purging its Christian heritage. The Nativity, the traditional manger scene, has not been put up in the Belgian town of Holsbeek, just outside Brussels. Claims were it was scrapped to “avoid offending Muslims”.
As reported by the newspaper La Libre, school calendars within Belgium’s French speaking community are also using a new secularized terminology: All Saints Day is now be referred to as Autumn Leave; Christmas Vacation is now Winter Vacation; Lenten Vacation is now Rest and Relaxation Leave; and Easter is now Spring Vacation. Then Belgium installed an abstract, de-Christianized Christmas tree in the capital, Brussels.
In the Netherlands, the Christian tradition of Black Pete is under attack and it will soon be abolished. In Italy, Catholic priests this year canceled Christmas to “avoid offending Muslims”.

He concludes:

The final result of Europe’s self-destructive secularism could seriously be a Caliphate, in which the fate of its ancient and beautiful churches recapitulates those in Constantinople, where the Hagia Sophia, for thousand years Christianity’s greatest cathedral, was recently turned into a mosque. The muezzin’s call now reverberates inside this Christian landmark for the first time in 85 years. Islamic terrorists targeted Christmas in Berlin, but it is the Christian secularists who are abolishing it all over Europe.

The second piece looks specifically at Germany. Things are also looking very grim there. Introductory bullet points to the article “The Suicide of Germany” are worth sharing here:

-Of the 1.2 million migrants who arrived in Germany in 2014 and 2015, only 34,000 found work.
-Angela Merkel went to lay white roses at the scene of the Christmas market attack in Berlin. Thousands of Germans did the same. Many brought candles and cried. But anger and the will to combat the threat remained largely absent.
-Nothing better describes the present state of Germany than the sad fate of Maria Landenburger, a 19-year-old girl, murdered at the beginning of December. A member of a refugee relief organization, Landenburger was among those who welcomed migrants in 2015. She was raped and murdered by one of the people she was helping. Her family asked anyone who wanted to pay tribute to their daughter to give money to refugee associations, so that more refugees could come to Germany.
-The law that condemns incitement to hatred, presumably intended to prevent a return to Nazi ideas, is held like a sword over whoever speaks too harshly of the growing Islamization of the country.
-The great majority of the Germans do not want to see that Germany is at war, because a merciless enemy has declared war on them. They do not want to see that war has been declared on Western civilization. They accept defeat and docilely do what jihadists want them to do: they submit.
-If Angela Merkel does not see the difference between Jews exterminated by the Nazis, and Muslims threatening to exterminate Christians, Jews and other Muslims, she is even more clueless than it seems.

Yes things are looking very bad indeed in much of the West. As mentioned, there are a few places where some sanity remains, and some see that neither secularism nor Islam can save Europe. Only a vibrant and life-giving Christianity can do that.

Whether the little glimmers of hope I mentioned above can offset the gathering darkness remains to be seen. But the West cannot long continue on the path it is on. It either returns to its Christian roots or it continues on the path of destruction. Choose wisely.

Merkel Stands by Migrant Policy in New Year’s Speech, Says Germany Fights Terrorism with Compassion

31 Dec 2016 by Victoria Friedman

In her New Year’s speech, Chancellor Angela Merkel affirmed that her government will win the fight against terrorism with compassion and denied that her open-door mass migration policy, which directly brought terrorists to Germany, was wrong.

In the federal chancellor’s New Year address to Germany, Merkel asserted that the terror attacks committed by Islamist migrants in Würzburg, Ansbach, and recently at a Christmas market in Berlin were not attacks on Western civilisation but an attack on ‘refugees’ and Germany’s willkommenskultur (‘welcome culture’).

She stated terrorists “mock [the willingness of Germany to help] with their deeds [acts of terrorism], like they mock those who really need and deserve our protection.”

Adding that it is “particularly bitter and repulsive” when terrorist attacks are committed by migrants, Merkel pushed back against criticism of her unwavering commitment to mass migration, saying that Germany will fight the “hatred” of terrorism with “humanity” and “unity.”

“With the images of bombed-out Aleppo in Syria, it is important to remember once again how important and correct it was that our country has helped in the past year those who need our protection,” she said.

Acknowledging that Islamic terrorism is the biggest test for Germany, Merkel hinted at new security measures for the year ahead – but not at changes to her open-door mass migration policies.

Over one million unvetted migrants from the Middle East and Africa entered Germany alone at Merkel’s invitation, including potentially hundreds of Islamic State fighters and bringing with them the risk of the terror organisation weaponising migrants already in the country.

Asserting that “[the] state is doing everything to ensure its citizens’ security in freedom,” the chancellor said that in the midst of mourning for the dead and injured in these “difficult days,” Germans should seek “consolation” in each other.

Merkel closed her speech, which will be broadcast Saturday, by asserting that Germans need “openness” and “an open view of the world.” She stated she had “confidence” for 2017 – this New Year confidence an extension of her “Wir schaffen das” (“we can do this”) mantra.

Over the past two years, Germany has experienced its worst series of terror atrocities since the 1980s, with Islamist suicide bombings, shootings, axe attacks, and a truck rampage. The country has also experienced waves of mass sex attacks, social unrest, crime, and pressure on public services brought upon by the mass importation of peoples from the Islamic world.

Terror attacks in Würzburg, Ansbach, and Berlin in 2016, the year Merkel calls “a year of severe tests,” were committed by illegal migrants who, in Merkel’s New Year’s address for 2015, she referred to as Germany’s “chance of tomorrow.”

EXCLUSIVE PICS: London on Terror Lockdown for New Year’s Eve

31 Dec 2016 by Liam Deacon

London will be guarded by record numbers of police and fortified with concrete barriers ahead of New Year’s Eve to repel Islamist attacks.

In total, 3,800 police officers will be on duty in central London, with thousands more in the rest of the capital.

The barriers are being deployed to stop cars and trucks entering the centre of the city, where they could be used to ram and run over pedestrians in scenes similar to those seen in Berlin and Nice this year.

More than 100,000 are expected to line the banks of the River Thames to watch the fireworks tonight and welcome in the New Year.

Ken Marsh, chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, told the Telegraph:

“I can assure you that there is a big armed operation over London. There are more armed police this year than there have been ever before. There are far more bollards that have been put in place than ever before.”

British Transport Police also made that unusual announcement that armed officers will be patrolling trains and the underground tube network.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed security plans for the capital’s New Year’s Eve celebrations had been “adjusted” in the last few days in light of recent Islamist terror attacks.

Superintendent Phil Langworthy, from the force, told Sky News: “Clearly we have been looking at what has happened around the world in terms of Berlin, Nice etc… and have adjusted our plans and continue to adjust our plans.”

He added that there were “both overt and covert” measures in place for security.

Attacks with trucks are increasingly coming in Europe. In July, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel killed 86 people when he drove a 19-tonne lorry into crowds on Nice’s seafront promenade.

Earlier this month, Anis Amri killed 12 people when he drove a hijacked lorry into a Berlin Christmas market.

100,000 Soldiers and Police on New Year’s Eve Streets of ‘State of Emergency’ France

31 Dec 2016 by Oliver JJ Kane

Still on the highest level of alert after a series of deadly terror attacks, France will see unprecedented numbers of security personnel on duty on New Year’s Eve.

Weeks after the French government extended the national State of Emergency — already in place for over a year — thousands of police, crowd control specialists, and soldiers will protect celebrations from terror attacks.

France’s Le Figaro reports among the near 100,000 force deployed tonight will be 52,500 police officers, 5,600 border police, 4,000 members of the specially trained riot-control Republican Security Companies, and officers of the elite SWAT-equivalent RAID force.

This force will be backed up by tens of thousands of soldiers presently deployed on Operation Sentinel, the French military mission providing security to the mainland since the November 2015 Bataclan attack which killed 130. The deployment has predominantly focused on protecting schools, synagogues, railway stations, and other public sites considered prime terror targets.

Speaking to the press one officer involved in planning the layered defence for New Year’s Eve celebrations said: “The security measures take into account the terrorist risk and in particular the new operating modes which use a vehicle such as a truck as a weapon”. Measures include the deployment of concrete blocks like those seen in Berlin after the Christmas market attack, and heavy government vehicles parked as improvised roadblocks.

Similar deployments are to be seen on New Year’s Eve in New York where dozens of garbage trucks loaded with sand are to be deployed around Times Square to prevent ram-raid attacks like those seen in France and Germany this year.

In addition to these measures, restrictions on the sale of alcohol, fireworks, and petrol will also be in place. Other powers granted by the state of emergency including the ability to enforce house arrest for those considered to pose a threat and the power for police to close down gatherings and meetings remain in place.

While Nice — already the target of one of the most deadly terror attacks in France ever this year — are witnessing comparatively limited police deployments of a few hundred officers and soldiers, other cities are seeing more. Strasbourg, the second home of the European Parliament will see over 600 men deployed for security.

France’s terror-target cities aren’t the only settlements seeing major security deployments for New Year’s Eve. Breitbart London reported today with exclusive pictures the situation in the United Kingdom’s capital, with extensive measures in place to prepare.

In addition to officers and concrete barriers on the street, the Metropolitan Police announced they would be staging regular armed patrols on underground trains over the course of the evening.

Palestinian Jihadist: Ban Christmas Celebrations in Islamic States

31 Dec 2016 by Ali Waked

Abu Omar Almaqdesi, a senior Gaza-based Islamic State jihadist, said the soldiers and supporters of the Caliphate must not permit the celebration of Christmas in Islamic countries. He went on to describe the festivities as depraved, lewd and based on the “blasphemous idea” that Allah had an equal in Jesus.

“Isa (Jesus), may he rest in peace, is a prophet like all the others,” Almeqdesi told Breitbart Jerusalem “and in Islam we don’t discriminate between prophets for they are all the messengers of Allah, but the claim that Jesus is a deity represents a heresy that ought to be stamped out in Islamic states.”

“Those Christians who pay the jizya – the poll tax – and refrain from practicing these blasphemous celebrations should be given the security they deserve. But if somewhere there are Christians who insist on celebrating Christmas with the support of the heretic authorities, one must unleash upon them all one’s might and deploy all the available means.”

Asked what he means by that, Almeqdesi said that “all methods are admissible when it comes to preventing blasphemy against Allah and his commandments. Yes, including killing and blowing up. But, like I said, we believe that at first you should act politely and explain that living in Islamic countries is conditioned on accepting the Sharia and refrain from openly practicing  rituals other than Islam.”

Asked whether Christians should be allowed to enjoy alcoholic drinks in the privacy of their homes during the holiday, Almeqdesi replied in the negative, “as the alcohol was bought somewhere, whereas selling it and consuming it is forbidden, so you can’t drink it. Whoever’s caught breaking this law will be whipped and jailed.”

Almeqdesi said the recent terror attacks in Jordan, Turkey and Germany “are part of the price these states must pay for positioning themselves as part of the Crusader Coalition of the infidel countries fighting against Islam.”

Almeqdesi added that the Islamic State’s claiming responsibility for the recent terrorist attacks in Jordan and Berlin “was only to be expected seeing as the organization’s leadership pledged to punish all the states that form the coalition against it. While the attacks on Islamic states are ongoing, so will be the (terror) activity of our mujahideen brothers.”

  1. There are many who would fight across Europe yet cannot equip accordingly.
They all have their organisations, their groups, but they cannot (or probably more accurately) won’t co-ordinate their efforts.

Some fools openly talk of rebellion only totally missing the fact that bare hands and expedient weapons are no match for the well equipped attack dogs of government.

    As for the UK?
What I fear is necessary to correct this whole problem in the UK, what is regrettably needed, is a terrorist spectacular.
Something so big and horrendous that no amount of mealy mouthing PC nonsense by politicians will stop a fearsome counter reaction.

Only even then the same problem will occur, expedient weapons verses TPTB.

Perhaps a leader is out there in the wings waiting for the apporpiate time.
Someone of status in the world of the little people.
A charasmatic, tactically aware leader, who can bring everyone and everything together.

Like it or not, some of the worlds biggest problems have been sorted out by the most unlikely (and hated by the establishment) street aware leaders. Want an example? Lech Wałęsa, Poland

    • ror1774 says:

Thank you for adding all this. You provided a great example in Lech Wałęsa of Poland. Another example might be the USA Founding Fathers, the British Establishment wanted them exterminated.

      • Good example on your part yet for me the problem is today, now.

I look around and see no one and often wonder why that is?
Europe with a population of over 750 million and not one natural born leader capable of bringing all the ‘loose ends’ together into one joint effort.
Somehow that just doesn’t seem right.

      • ror1774 says:

Perhaps Nigel Farage or Marine Le Pen might be the ones to lead and bring the loose ends together. I could easily be someone else. Three years ago people would have laughed at the idea of Donald Trump being President. Let’s pray God brings forth His choice in Europe.

      • Farage is a motivator but as an organiser, let alone a leader of a revolution, I’m not so sure.

Besides he has little tactical experience and is way too public.

        As for Le Pen.
I admire her greatly but unfortunately Marine Le Pen is again too public and always under French government scrutiny.

It’s difficult to work when the worlds number one security force is watching your every move.

That’s why to lead a ragtag revolution I feel you need someone from the streets or an ex-military leader. Why ex-mil. Most of them have the experience but aren’t publically known about.

      • ror1774 says:

Very good analysis. Being Ex-Military I understand what you mean about ex-military leadership. We’ll pray God lifts up His person for Europe soon.
