TRUMP JUST MIGHT BE ABLE TO SAVE AMERICA!

This will be my last chance to plead with my NewsWithViews readers to vote for Donald Trump for president and to try to convince their families and friends to do the same.

If you’re still not resolved to vote for Trump after several hundred thousand Hillary Clinton State Dept. emails turned up where they shouldn’t—this time in Anthony Weiner’s laptop, the one he used for sending lewd pictures of himself to teenage girls—then here are a few more points to ponder. If you really need them, after this.

If you think America really needs to teach the lesson that “Crime does pay, and how!” then by all means, don’t vote for Donald Trump. Let Criminal Clinton be rewarded with the highest office in the land, where she’ll be able to commit bigger and even more lucrative crimes.

If you think a political campaign that hires and coaches thugs to initiate violence at the other candidate’s rallies should be rewarded with the White House, then sit this one out, or vote third-party, or even vote for Clinton. Just don’t vote for Trump.

If you think America needs the kind of chaos, crime, and violence that wide-open Muslim immigration has brought to Germany and France, well, Hillary’s your gal. Don’t vote for Trump.

If you love the idea of open borders for America, with free stuff, amnesty, and even voting rights for everyone who comes here illegally, don’t vote for Trump.

If you think “journalists,” aka “presstitutes,” should be rewarded for taking money from the Democrat Party, actively coordinating their “news coverage” with the Clinton campaign, then please don’t vote for Trump—you’ll rob them of their payoff.

If you believe the Justice Department’s proper role in government is to shield law-breaking officeholders from being held accountable, then don’t vote for Donald Trump. Attorney General Loretta Lynch has already had a lot of practice keeping Hillary out of jail. Why break up a winning combo?

And if you think it’s also the Justice Department’s job to “investigate” persons for being skeptical of Global Warming, don’t vote for Trump. Those “investigations” are on the Democrat platform, not his.

If you think the freedom of religion enshrined in the First Amendment should be replaced by some Clintonian flim-flam called “freedom of worship,” don’t vote for Trump. As near as we can decipher it, “freedom of worship” means you can still exercise your religion wherever the government can’t get at it—inside the four walls of your church, for instance, until they come after it in there. And don’t think they won’t, because in some cases, they already have. But if that’s the kind of thing that appeals to you, then by all means let Clinton have the White House. Don’t try to stop her with a vote for Trump.

If you think Obamacare should just go on and on, and your insurance premiums go up and up, until the whole damned thing implodes and then the corrupt and power-hungry vandals who made the mess in the first place throw up their hands and say the only answer left is for them to control, and own, each and every aspect of your healthcare—well, then, Trump is not your candidate.

And if you’re convinced the government needs more and more of your money, bigger and more intrusive powers to meddle with your life, all because an army of proven liars insists they need it to Save The Planet from imaginary Man-Made Climate Change, then whatever you do, don’t vote for Trump. Who needs an air conditioner or a refrigerator anyhow?

If you think the private-jets-and-mansions crowd should have the power to tell you where and how to live, and tax you for it, make sure you don’t vote for Trump.

Finally, if you believe the goons from Black Lives Matter, and assorted labor unions, ought to be rewarded for their crimes with free passes to the Lincoln Bedroom, then don’t for Trump. You don’t want to disappoint George Soros, do you?

If you’ve got it in for America and you hate your country for being so slow to take up communism, this election’s got to be very simple for you.

Just don’t vote for Trump.

I have discussed these topics, and others, on my blog, http://leeduigon.com, throughout the week. Please stop by and read! All it takes is just one click to get you there.

EVANGELICALS TAKE CENTER SAGE

Voting Booths_1

Nov 5. 2016 by Tony Perkins

With four days to go until the election, the fence is becoming a less crowded place. Undecided Americans are making their choices — helped along by shocking new revelations from the FBI on Hillary Clinton and the stark contrasts in the two candidates’ agendas. The ground is shifting all right, especially for what George Barna has dubbed the SAGE Cons — the Spiritually Active, Governance Engaged conservatives. Essentially these are Christians like you; followers of Christ, who are both informed and engaged.

In the latest surveys of his American Culture and Faith Institute (ACFI), the all-important bloc of politically active evangelicals is gravitating to Donald Trump in startling numbers. In key states like Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, and elsewhere, the mass migration is particularly noticeable. Back in May, 67 percent of SAGE Cons in the Buckeye State were supporting the GOP nominee. In the last couple of weeks, that number has skyrocketed to 92 percent — a 25-point swing in one of the most critical states for either candidate to win.

Perhaps even more telling, Barna points out, is that six months ago, about two-thirds of Trump’s supporters were backing him “because of their dislike of Mrs. Clinton.” Just 37 percent cited his positions on key issues as the driving reason for their choice. Now deep into the fall, that number has almost flipped. “The most common motivation for backing Mr. Trump is now his positions on key issues, listed by a whopping 75 percent.” After three debates, which helped pull the curtain back on Hillary Clinton’s extremism, Americans finally got a good look at the two nominees’ differences on things like abortion, the Supreme Court, national security, trade, and religious freedom. For SAGE Cons, who rank abortion as their top issue (30 percent) and SCOTUS nominations a close second (28 percent), the final debate delivered exactly the clarity they were hoping for.

“If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby,” Trump said. “Now, you can say that that’s OK and Hillary can say that that’s OK. But it’s not OK with me, because based on what she’s saying, and based on where she’s going, and where she’s been, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb in the ninth month on the final day. And that’s not acceptable.”

It may have been the most significant moment of the campaign for Trump, and could prove to be one of the most important in the history of modern presidential politics. Not only did it expose Clinton’s inhumanity for what it is, but it helped mobilize an army of pro-lifers to the side of a man who offers the best chance of reversing the damage done by the last eight years of the Obama administration. Trump’s answer resonated in the battleground states, where voters started waking up to the gulf between he and Clinton on the fundamental problems facing America. Suddenly, voters — and SAGE Cons in particular — started to make decisions not based on the people, but policies, principles, and platforms. Dr. Stephen King, Regent University Professor of Government, joined me on “Washington Watch” yesterday to delve deeper into the motivation of voters and the impact they can have next Tuesday. (Listen here.)

What matters now is turnout. It’s all well and good if evangelicals say they support Donald Trump. Now they have to make the drive to the polling stations and show it. Right now, Barna predicts 85 percent of SAGE voters will cast ballots in the election, and for Trump to have a chance, 86 percent of them will need to break for the GOP nominee. The next 96 hours are crucial. If you or someone you know hasn’t made up their mind on the race, share FRC Action’s two videos: the “2016 Party Platform Comparison” and “In the Balance: Why the Courts Matter.” If you’re still not convinced, check out my new op-ed in the Stream, “Evangelicals Should Reject False Dilemmas,” which is a response to the idea that Christians should have to choose between engaging in politics and maintaining their spiritual purity. This election, as with any election, is not about electing someone who is going to “spiritually reform” America. It’s about electing individuals who will respect the rights of Christians and others to live by their faith and fully engage as citizens of this country so that through sharing their faith in Christ through both words and deeds, they can reform society. America’s political deficiencies are directly linked to our spiritual weakness. The answer is not for Christians to retreat further from issues of public concern into religious ghettos, as some on the Left would suggest. The answer is in rekindling our love and devotion for Christ that causes us to go and accomplish our spiritual (Matt. 28:19-20) and cultural commissions (Gen. 1:26-28).

CYRUS, KING OF PERSIA: THE LORD’S ANOINTED

cyrus-the-great

Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates… For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou has not known me…  Isaiah 45:1,4

God spoke to Cyrus through the prophet Isaiah, a hundred years or so before Cyrus was born. He was born a subject of the empire of the Medes. There was no Persian Empire, yet. It remained for Cyrus to found it–with God’s help.

It was Cyrus who released the Jews from captivity in Babylon, and ordered God’s Temple in Jerusalem to be rebuilt (2 Chronicles 36:22-23). His successors, kings of Persia, saw to it that the project was completed, as we know from Nehemiah.

Cyrus was not a Jew, not a believer, and yet God chose him as his servant. The Persian Empire that he founded was one of the great achievements of the human race, although it was finally destroyed by Alexander the Great. And Cyrus himself, after fulfilling the mission assigned to him by God, fell victim to a lust for power and glory, and met his death far from home, trying to conquer the nomads of the steppes. Like so many great men, he eventually brought about his own fall. Put not your trust in princes.

His career reminds us that God is able and willing to use anyone, even non-Jews, or non-Christians, to carry out His purposes in history. We note that of all the foreign potentates who ruled over the Jews, it was only the Persians–not the Romans, not the Greeks–who treated them justly and were rewarded by their loyalty.

God intervenes in history. It belongs to Him.

I pray He will intervene in our country’s history, to bring us back to our senses and to save us.

And we may be surprised by whom He chooses to do it.
